Sam studied Political Science and Comparative Religion (BA with distinction) as well as World Society and Global Governance (MA with distinction) at the University of Lucerne. During and after his studies, he also worked as a research associate and lecturer at Lucerne's Department of Political Science. As a PhD researcher at the European University Institute, Sam comparatively investigates the relationship between immigration, integration and naturalization policies. He has contributed to EUDO CITIZENSHIP as a research collaborator for developing and coding the ELECLAW indicators.
