Our goals and services

Our goal is to provide academics, governments, international organisations and NGOs with information for research and evidence-based evaluation of public policies.

We do not offer information or counselling to individuals interested in acquiring the citizenship of a particular country and we do not encourage experts in our network to answer such requests.

This section collects information about citizenship laws and policies in each of the countries covered by the EUDO CITIZENSHIP observatory. For most countries we provide:

  • a detailed country report analysing the historical background, current trends and data
  • the current legislation defining acquisition and loss of citizenship
  • a chronological overview of past citizenship legislation
  • international legal norms recognised by this country
  • a selection of the most important case laws dealing with citizenship;
  • available statistics on the acquisition of citizenship - recent citizenship news and forum discussions about this country
  • a selection of relevant Internet links
  • a selection of the most relevant publications dealing with citizenship law and politics.
